CORONAVIRUS UPDATE:
*Until further notice ALL sessions will be held online via Zoom.

*Discounts are available to anyone in need of this, to reflect the current situation where income may be unreliable.
If your financial situation allows you to pay the full price I invite you to do this.
*If your income has suddenly vanished completely, and you need urgent support, please contact me to discuss options.  I can provide a limited number of fully sponsored (free) sessions on courses per month, or we can arrange delayed payment agreements.

Session options:
I can currently work with you in one of three different ways:
Individual sessions - available at any mutually convenient time for any parent with children of any age.
To understand your child's behaviour better: Join a pick 'n' mix course - for parents of children aged 1-5 years. A new course starts approximately every month.
To understand your own behaviour better: Join an Overwhelmed Parents Club - a three week course helping overwhelmed parents move from shouting to connection. For parents of children of any age.

1. Individual Sessions:
These are for parents with children of any age.  We discuss whatever is relevant to you and your family, looking at the individual struggles you are facing within your family, and working to understand better what is going on for each of you within the relationship and how you can make changes that bring about more connection, peace and joy for your whole family.
These sessions can focus either on understanding your child and learning how to better support them, or they can focus on what you need as a parent, and your own personal struggles within this role.  Often they involve a combination of the two.

Pricing:
1 hour: £75 (disounted rate £50)
1hr 30 mins: £100 (discounted rate £70)
2 hours: £125 (discounted rate £90)
I usually recommend an initial session of 2 hours.  Further sessions can be 1 hour or 1 hour 30 minutes as required.
Price is the same for one or two members of the same family attending the session.

2. The Pick 'n' Mix Course
For parents of children aged 1-5 years old.
This course consists of 8 individual sessions (see topics below). The first two sessions are mandatory, but sessions after that can be attended or not as you wish.  For example if food is your concern, you can attend the first two sessions and then attend week 5 only.  If you want to learn most about brain development you can attend the first two sessions and then weeks 3 and 4.  If you want support with boundaries, you can attend the first two sessions and then weeks 7 and 8.
Or if you just want an introduction to understanding your child's behaviour, then you can attend the first two sessions only.

Pricing:
Cost for entire course if paid in advance:
One family member:
£190
 (discounted rate £150)
Two family members: £270 (discounted rate £230)

OR

First two sessions: £60 (discounted rate £50)
Each individual session: £30 (discounted rate £25)
For this course, a second family member can attend the same course at an additional cost of £10 per session. They must attend the first two sessions of the course to be able to attend any further sessions.

Weekly Topics:
Weeks 1&2: Understanding toddler behaviour and emotions
Week 3:  Responsive parenting
Week 4: Brain development and play (particularly relevant right now!)
Week 5: Eating
Week 6: Sleep
Week 7: Boundaries part one
Week 8: Boundaries part two
NB: You may only attend further sessions on the SAME course for which you attended the first two sessions.

Course start dates:
1. Wednesday 13th JANUARY 7.30-10pm, running Wednesday evenings for 8 consecutive sessions. Final session 3rd March.

2. Thursday 4th FEBRUARY 7.30-10pm, running Thursday evenings for 8 consecutive sessions. Final session 25th March.

3. The Overwhelmed Parents' Club
Three week course helping parents move from shouting to connecting.
For all parents with children of any age.
Do you long to be a calm, connected parent, but find yourself all too often stuck in angry shouty mode? Then join the club! This course will help you understand why we shout, and how we can change our behaviour as parents. We will focus specifically on our moments of overwhelm, and explore what we can do before the moment, during the moment, and after the moment in order to change our own patterns of behaviour.
This course consists of 3 x 90 minute sessions (one per week) held over Zoom.
Group sizes are kept small and sessions are informal and non-judgemental.
N.B This course is focused on our own behaviour as parents. We do not explore what is going on for our children or how to change their behaviour (getting them to listen to us, getting them to do what we've asked etc), so if you want to know more about this then I recommend either attending the Pick 'n' Mix course for 1-5 year olds first, or arranging an individual session.

Pricing: £75 per person. (discounted rate £60).  This price includes all three sessions.

Dates:
JANUARY - Thursday evenings - 14th, 21st and 28th - 8pm-9.30pm
MARCH - Wednesday evenings - 10th, 17th and 24th - 8pm-9.30pm

4. Preparing For Toddlerhood Short Course
For parents with children aged between 11 months and 18 months.  This two session course will cover some of the situations you are likely to face as parents of toddlers, and help you understand what is going on in your child's brain during these moments, and how best to support him or her.  The aim of the course is to give parents realistic expectations of toddlerhood, while at the same time helping parents to feel confident in how they might approach these situations. We will look at emotional meltdowns, behaviour management, eating and sleep.

Pricing:
£60 per person (discounted rate £50) This price includes both sessions.
A second family member may attend for an additional £10 per session.

Dates:
No dates currently scheduled. Please contact me if you are interested in attending this course.

"We felt very at ease discussing what is a very sensitive and stressful situation to us. We weren't judged and could talk openly. Very informative, knowledgable, understanding and sympathetic"
Debbie, mother to Poppy, aged 3
"Alex was great at catering our one-to-one session perfectly towards us and our twins. We felt totally at ease discussing all topics and certainly not judged in any sense. The open discussion really enabled us to think through the various approaches we could use in the coming weeks/months/years with Alex guiding us through the material in a totally engaging and expert manner."
Rachael, mother to 2 year old twins.
