This short course is the fourth part of the toddler toilet learning module for the toddler specialist consultant training pathway.
This short course includes the lessons:
- Introduction to the societal influences on toilet learning
- Washing nappies
- Disposable nappies
- Shifting social norms: employment and childcare
- Changing expectations and influences
This short course covers some of the shifts that have impacted on how infant toilet was managed, and when toilet learning occurred. As today there have always been life factors and practicalities that influence the choices of how and when to make changes such as introducing toilet use. The predominant ideas of the time have also shifted several times over the past century.

Relevant prior learning: It is not necessary to complete the following courses prior to this course, however doing so will give you a good grounding in the relevant background areas.
